After a long winter with a record nine school days missed due to snow and ice, we were looking forward to warmer weather. Perhaps it is warmer here in Florida, but the air conditioning in the plane from Los Angeles to Miami was so cold that we had a hard time sleeping on our overnight flight and the A/C is cranked up here in the airport, too.
We arrived at 5:30 a.m., several hours before the team from Andrews University. We are looking forward to meeting them after months of Skype visits and emails. We plan to fill some of the time during our five-hour layover by practicing our skits. The evangelistic series begins tonight. I am trusting that the excitement of our first day in Cuba will keep us going despite the lack of sleep.
